    Did Altec make?

A long time ago, about ten years, I was in a small recording studio that had a speaker that looked like my 604's but was much bigger, it sounded fairly harsh as I recall and was used as a near field monitor in large cabinets, as I remember they were about 5.5L X 3.5W X 2.75D and hanging from the ceiling directly in front of a mastering board that had hundreds of knobs and switches. This small studio on lake ontario did record some well known acts as I recall, one that I remembered was a band called "Bush" that had some success. So my question is did Altec or another company make an 18 inch coax that looked very similar to 604's?

It could also have been, a BTH Coax, ( which had an 18" woofer ) .

With that handle looks like something useable in crowd dispersal.

That's wild! The only 18" coax I knew about was the P.Audio 18. A really great driver if used right. An 18" woofer cone makes a great horn.

Wasn't the BTH a Westrex? or has my brain turned completely to mush?
Your neighbors called. They like your music.

    Except that it moves.

Here's a pic of that WE coax complete with the horn from the Silbatone collection....multicell on the HF and a re-enterant horn for the bass.

    Scroll down about halfway...

That should be a big problem, but in practice just doesn't seem to be. It's one of the first questions people ask. I've certainly heard Doppler distortion off full range drivers, but not the big coax. It's surprising.
